Ankle & Knee Bracing
Bracing is typically used to provide support to a specific joint when it requires immobilization, stability and/or off-loading pressure.
It can be overwhelming to choose the right type of support for your condition when there are so many options readily available at retail stores and pharmacies. It is important to know that not all braces treat the same conditions. Most braces are constructed with specific features to address a specific condition so if you are in the wrong brace it may not provide adequate support or pain relief.
Our Canadian Certified Pedorthists are trained to assess, fit and measure for ankle and knee bracing solutions from a variety of global orthopedic companies. We offer a wide selection of over the counter (OTC) and custom bracing solutions to address your specific condition and fit your lifestyle needs.
Over The Counter Ankle Braces
Ankle braces are typically used to treat mild to moderate ankle pain caused by:
Acute or chronic ankle sprains
Posterior tibialis tendon dysfunction
Over The Counter Knee Braces
Over the counter knee braces are commonly used for those experiencing mild symptoms such as:
General knee discomfort/pain
Feeling of instability
Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PPFS)
Custom Knee Braces
Custom knee braces are built rigid and specific to a condition to immobilize, stabilize, support and/or off-load. They require more specific measurements to provide a custom fit.
Custom knee braces are more commonly used for those experiencing moderate to severe pain such as:
Pain relief for those not yet a candidate or on waiting list for a joint surgery
Moderate to severe arthritis
