Footwear Modifications
Footwear modifications are permanent changes or adaptations made to footwear to improve gait function and accommodate specific pathologies such as a leg length difference, ankle arthrodesis (fusion), severe arthritis and neurological and diabetic complications. This list is not inclusive of pathologies that may benefit modifications.
Modifications can be simple or complex, with price and impact varying accordingly.
Modifications can typically be done to everyday footwear including running shoes. It is important to discuss your specific requirements with one of our Canadian Certified Pedorthists to ensure the footwear type is appropriate for your individual needs.
